General French Roulette Rules

Roulette game is played at the table with the specially created wheel and number chart called the table layout. According to the French roulette rules the number chart has 12 separate columns of number sections (for placing the inside bets) and cells for making different types of roulette bets (outside bets). The wheel comprises the same quantity of numbered spaces (36) plus additional 0 ( zero). The numbered slots on the wheel and on the table are marked in red and black, but zero cells are marked in green. Additionally the spaces alternate between red and black and also even and odd numbers. The numbers pattern on the roulette wheel was developed by the group of roulette makers and today it is considered to be a standard. A special white ball and roulette chips for each gambler are used in the this game. It must be admitted that European or French and American versions of the roulette are practically the same and the game objectives do not differ sharply, the main evident distinction is in the usage of double zero section on American roulette wheel.

French roulette rules are very simple to understand. At first the gamblers make bets by placing the chips on the number cells. The gamblers have option to place inside (on one or several definite numbered sections) or outside bets (on a selection of number sections). The dealer or croupier spins the wheel and lands the white ball on the outward track of the rotating wheel. While the roulette wheel stops gradually the players are allowed to end making bets. As the French roulette rules dictate it is forbidden to place more bets as the roulette dealer says “No more bets!” Then the white ball rests at a certain numbered section the winner is indicated. The croupier gives off winning bets and others are swept away for the casino. Payouts are various for different bets.
